July 30 - Back in Cartagena

We said goodbye to Taganga and heading back down to Cartagena, but not before going for a mud bath at the "Volcan de Totumo".   A 15 meter high mud volcano which is 7000 feet deep!  We are actually standing in the mud, luckily the mud is super thick but very watery.  Every once in a while a large bubble would come up from within the volcano and burst...or one of the boys had bad gas.

The night ended with the three boys dancing to "Sorry for Party Rocking - LMFAO" while the bags were being packed/unpacked/packed again...but this time for Panama!

    Hey Marnie:

When you read this I guess you will be getting closer and closer to Costa Rica. Even though we do not write much we have been following you along the route. We were concern when you write about your adventure, kind a lost in Colombia. Wuaw!!! I know my region, I really would'n like to be lost in Colombia. I know my region and sometimes taking the wrong turn or ask the wrong person can be dangerous. But Well Marnie, as I said before, you guys are very brave and I admire you guys for this wonderful adventure. Well, here are some tips for your Costa Rican peac. Our suggestion is to try to take the coastal road once you get to San Isidro del General. This route will take you along the coast where the tour is much more quiet and pleasant. I understand you are planning to stay a few days in Costa Rica. While there take the time of visiting a volcano, and will have an unforgettable experience. Another option is , in your route to San Jose, make a little detour and visit the Arenal Volcano. Is wonderful to see it, since is an active volcano. Unfortunately I understand that it's raining a lot these days, I hope you are with sunny days and can enjoy your visit to our country. Is better to you to stay out of the city, downtown San Jose is pretty noisy and disorganize, and kind a dangerous, so is better for you to saty away of there. Anyways it is better to opt for a little more distant hotels and spend the least time possible in San Jose. In any case, if you have any questions or a problem please do not hesitate to ask. All my family is there, and they will be glad to help you.
Hugs to the Kids and to Bert.
