It was really great to see everyone on Friday night at the
Canada Club. We had met some wonderful
people at the CC over the years and it seemed only fitting we spent our last
night there. Thank you to the CC committee for putting together another great
event!
We spent the next morning running around but by 11 am we
were ready! A special thank you to those
that came to the house one last time….by the time we departed and for the first few minutes the truck was
quiet and tears were flowing….
The first thoughts are one of “slight disbelief” that we
decided to embark on this mammoth trip.
One thing is to talk about it…and plan ..and buy stuff for the Defender…it’s
quite another to see how slow the kilometers turn over in the truck....especially when we hit crazy traffic in Guara...
The roads were surprisingly good and we were surprized on
how many divided lanes there were along the BR60 from Brasilia to Jatai. However…when you factor the new construction,
trucks and small towns according to our trusted Garmin GPS….we only managed to
average 64km/hour…..my oh my..
We finally arrived in Jatai and stayed at a Military Hotel which was arranged
by Andrei, a special friend and fellow Defender enthusiast. The hotel was perfect for the first
night. The trip had officially started…
Humberto, que legal você conheceu o Andrei que tem um Defender 110 também.
